COMMISSIONING & STARTUP

Commissioning & Startup

Hands-on commissioning and startup support for industrial automation in Ontario — IO checks, safety validation, motion verification, and debug support through first production.

On-Site, Hands-On Commissioning
Safety Validated Before Production
Support Through First Production Runs
COMMISSIONING SCOPE

From Power-Up to Production

IO Checks & Device Validation

Every input, output, and device configuration verified before a machine is trusted to run.

Safety Validation & Interlock Testing

E-stops, light curtains, and interlocks function-tested before anyone works around the equipment.

Motion Verification

Manual and automatic motion checked through full range and cycle before production starts.

PLC & HMI Debug

Real-time logic and screen debug as the system comes online, not just a pre-written script.

Production Support

Staying on through first production runs — that's usually when the real issues surface.

Third-Party Equipment Support

Commissioning equipment we didn't build, when the OEM isn't available or support has ended.

OUR COMMISSIONING PROCESS

Power-Up Is the Start, Not the Finish Line

1

Pre-Commissioning Review

Drawings, sequence of operations, and risk assessment reviewed before anyone touches the equipment.

2

IO & Device Checkout

Every input, output, and networked device verified against the design before power is applied to motion.

3

Safety Validation

E-stops, interlocks, and light curtains tested and validated against the risk assessment or PHSR.

4

Motion & Sequence Verification

Manual motion first, then automatic sequence, checked through full range before production parts run.

5

Production Trial

Running real parts at rate, with debug support on hand for whatever the trial actually surfaces.

6

Handover & Support

Documentation updated to as-commissioned, with support available as production ramps up.

FAQ

Common Questions

Do you commission equipment you didn't build?

Yes. Third-party and OEM equipment is a regular part of our commissioning work, especially when the original supplier's support has ended.

What's included in safety validation during commissioning?

E-stops, interlocks, light curtains, and other safety functions are tested against the risk assessment or PHSR before the equipment runs production.

Do you stay on site through first production?

Yes, when scoped that way. First production runs are usually when real issues surface, so we plan for debug support through that stage, not just power-up.

Can you commission equipment that's already installed but not running?

Yes. We regularly pick up commissioning on equipment that was installed and then stalled — reviewing what's been done before continuing.

How long does commissioning take?

It depends on equipment complexity, safety scope, and how much of the controls work is already complete. Tell us the scope and timeline and we'll confirm what's realistic.
